"Submerged" acrylic on 10" x 10" canvas - I have seen a lot of Corona virus related art lately, showing the practical icons of the times (face masks, toilet paper, etc). I decided to do what I hope is a more visceral depiction of what it feels like right now. I was laid off from my part time job today. That business and countless others may not bounce back from the issues this virus has caused. Additionally, many service and production workers have been sent home without pay. Other folks might be working from home and keeping their distance from the public. Don't get me wrong, I love staying home and making art. It is my favorite! But probably no one wants a global pandemic to be the reason for their creative time. So anyway, I made this. It can feel like having our heads held under water. But here we are. Try to keep your heads up! Make art, read a book, chat with your children, snuggle with your kitty. There is a lot to love at home! We will get through it eventually. Stay hopeful. Stay safe.
